Adrien Brody and Georgina Chapman’s Relationship: Inside the Actor and Fashion Designer’s 5-Year Romance

Adrien Brody and Georgina Chapman‘s romance has been going strong for roughly five years.

The pair were first linked in 2019 after reconnecting at a dinner, and PEOPLE confirmed their relationship in early 2020. Brody and Chapman made their red carpet debut at the Tribeca Film Festival in June 2021 and have made several public appearances together since.

More recently, the Marchesa co-founder supported Brody at the Gotham Awards in December 2024, where the actor was nominated for outstanding lead performance in his film The Brutalist.

Chapman’s romance with Brody marks her first relationship since splitting from disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein in 2017 after he was accused of sexual assault by multiple women. The former couple — who share two children — wed in 2007 and finalized their divorce in 2021. Weinstein was convicted of rape and sexual assault in 2020 and sentenced to 23 years in prison. In April 2024, however, his New York convictions were overturned and he is currently awaiting retrial.

While Brody hasn’t opened up about his long-term relationship with Chapman, he did share a funny anecdote about her son when speaking to PEOPLE in 2023.

“My girlfriend’s 9-year-old son recently asked me — quite seriously: ‘What would you rather eat? Ice cream that tastes like s— or s— that tastes like ice cream?’ ” he recalled of the hilarious hypothetical.

According to various reports, Brody and Chapman were first linked in April 2019 when they were spotted at an event in Puerto Rico. The pair had reportedly met before but reconnected at a dinner for the launch of model Helena Christensen’s swimwear line at the Dorado Beach Ritz-Carlton Reserve, per Page Six. The actor and fashion designer were photographed sitting across from each other.

They’ve been dating for roughly five years

In February 2020, PEOPLE confirmed the couple were in a relationship. The following month, a film industry source told PEOPLE that Brody and Chapman had been seeing each other “for a while” and had “many of the same interests.”

“She thinks he’s unusual and interesting,” the source added. “She finds [him] to be an interesting person with a deep passion for his work that is similar to hers.”

Brody and Chapman made their first red carpet appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival in June 2021. The pair attended the premiere of Brody’s crime thriller Clean and were photographed arm in arm. Brody walked the carpet in a maroon suit and black dress shoes, while Chapman opted for a blue top embroidered with flowers and a sheer black skirt.

Brody and Chapman have attended several film premieres together

Chapman is very supportive of Brody’s acting career and often attends his film premieres. The pair attended the premiere of The French Dispatch at the Cannes Film Festival in July 2021, wearing coordinated black ensembles.

The fashion designer was also present for the premiere of Blonde, in which Brody played The Playwright, at the Venice Film Festival in September 2022. In an interview with Vogue, Chapman said that the 14-minute standing ovation the film received “was an incredible moment to witness.” She wore a silver beaded gown by Marchesa, while Brody opted for a black tux. 

They share a birthday

The couple coincidentally share the same date of birth: April 14. In 2024, Chapman posted a sweet tribute to Brody for their joint birthday.

“Happy birthday my darling twin…so happy to share this day with my best friend #twins #birthday #loveyou,” she wrote in the caption alongside photos of her and the actor.

They’ve shared occasional glimpses into their romance online

Though Brody and Chapman have made several public appearances together, they are still a very private couple. The Brutalist actor has yet to share any social media posts with Chapman, while the fashion designer occasionally shares glimpses of their relationship.

In May 2024, Chapman posted photos of the two getting ready for the Met Gala with the caption, “Date night this time last week.” She donned a black-and-white puffy gown by Marchesa, while Brody opted for a black tux with a crystal bird brooch.
